At events John Grosse may undertake any or all of the following tasks:

• arrive early for briefing and to see that all is ready
• meet performers (eg musicians) and see safely settled
• greet Dignitaries and Guests on arrival at venue
• guide Guests to reception points
• organise a Receiving-Line
• announce guests to Receiving-Line
• assist with photographs
• advise guests about arrangements eg seating plan, wine orders
• organise arrangements for musicians etc
• call guests to their tables
• announce Dignitaries and escort them to table
• announce person to say Grace (or say Grace)
• make ancillary announcements
• announce informal wine toasts
• organise circulation of guest book
• announce details of raffle, auction, table draw, etc
• introduce speakers for customary Toasts / responses
• be aware of and handle bouquets and presents
• assist recipients of awards (eg at dais steps)
• read cards or messages
• announce Auctioneer or act as auctioneer
• arrange retiring of Dignitaries from table
• advise guests of subsequent arrangements
• liaise with musicians / band / disco as to setting up
• act as MC to commence dancing
• organise Raffle Draw
• organise and announce Finale to event
• supervise guests withdrawal (eg for taxis etc)
  and
• go ‘the extra mile’ to ensure the event success
